it's been a while......

I have been thinking, just over the past week or so.....I need to get back to my blog.  I had told you all, that I was taking sometime off for school, which I did, and what an amazing experience!

I was entreated to several wonderful speakers who have such a plethora of experiences to draw upon.  They where not only wonderful to listen to, but they had such practical advice, and not just advice but very applicable words of wisdom.  Now after all, isn't this what we go to school for?  We go to school to learn.  To sit in the presence of one who is more learned than ourselves.
Now when I took these classes, I took them online.  And in doing so, I learned something about myself....I love the fact that in taking classes online I am able to pause and rewind as often as I need to, to grasp a concept.  For me, this was a invaluable tool!

The class that I took is designed to help us to understand, on a deeper level, who we are in Christ, our identity in Christ, and how to have a better relationship with not just Jesus, but with the Trinity!  This last part was my personal take away from the class.

And I will explain what I mean by this.

First of all, my relationship with Jesus, is as one who has Jesus as the most invaluable friend, and, as you might have with your spouse, before he or she becomes your spouse.  I find that I spend a very large part of my time thinking of Jesus, and the way that He would handle a situation.  How would He speak to this person?  What look would be on His face?  What inflections would be in His voice? My goal is to do this all the time.  Not an easy goal, but I have found that an easy goal is not really worth much!

Next up is my relationship with God,  this is easy.  God is the ultimate Father. He is the perfect Father!  He is the Daddy that you can run to when you have had your heart broken or your world shattered...He is the one I go to when I need that parental and sage advice of a great parent.  Let's face it, our parents may have been,"good parents," but nothing can compare with the father we have in God!

How is your relationship with the Holy Spirit?  Mine, is just so so, and I say this because I am just really learning about the Holy Spirit and what a relationship with the Holy Spirit entails.  You know, I am sure, what your conscious is...or you think you know what your conscious is...I believe that this really isn't your conscious, but it is the Holy Spirit.  I do not believe you have ever had your conscious guide you into something that is bad or wrong, on the contrary, our conscious guides us to what is good and what is pure, and what is Holy!   Have you ever heard of the "prompting of the Holy Spirit?"  The Holy Spirit instructs us to do things!  And empowers us to do them!  This past Sunday, and this I am finding is not always the easiest thing to do....the Holy Spirit instructed me to pray for Violet, and it is really kind of neat, Violet is a woman in church that I frequently sit next to, as Momma Lori would say, in my assigned seat, anyway, long story short, I asked Violet if I could pray for her, and of course she said yes, and so I did.
You know sitting quietly and taking to God is one thing, but when you pray for someone who you don't really know well, that is a little different...I have prayed for people who said to me, "why are you crying?" And I really didn't know why, but I now believe the tears come from my being obedient to the Holy Spirit, you see they are happy tears...the Holy Spirit is so pleased and so, thru me, is shredding happy tears!  Now there may be a few theologians out there that do not care for my explanation, and that is okay, to them I would say,"Can you disprove this?" I thought not.

And as my Pastor says, he leaks, he wants to have so much of Jesus in himself that,"I leak!" Well my pastor isn't the only one who want's to leak.  I want to leak too!

So God Bless you all and until I write again....go and imitate Christ!
