Are you a Child of God - Part 2

Yesterday we ended with the soldier's coming and taking Jesus off to be charged.  How sad!  When we think about what we know awaits Jesus...oh...this is really hard to think about...But like a young friend I have, who was watching the crucifixion of Christ on Easter afternoon, with some friends,  oh no you don't you have to watch this, you (as a Christian) need to watch this, was what she told her friend who was horrified by what she was seeing.  We as Christians need to be aware of just how much Jesus loves us and what he did for us!  So next time you have a little headache, just consider for a moment what Christ did for you, so that you might have eternal life.  Your headache is nothing!

Back to our topic...are you a child of God.  On Easter we had so many people come forward to receive Christ as their Savior, oh it was breathtaking.  And I mean that literally, sometimes God is just so palpable during our services.  I was aware of His presence before, but I have to say it isn't anything like this.  I really think it has a lot to do with the huge number of people who so love God all being together under one roof...and all of the them are calling out to Jesus...we want more!  And do you know just how gracious God is?  It say right in the Bible the the Lord wants us to have the desires of our hearts....

    Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart
God is just so wonderful and so awesome and do you ever feel like there just isn't an adjective that suites, to describe God's goodness and all His attributes...I feel that way on a regular basis.  Thank you, Kirsten! Yup God showed up!

Well I just asked God what He wants me to share with you, what He would like me to tell His people.  And He said just to keep going where I am going with this.  So I will continue.

If we look at at Psalm 37: 4, this is what transpires there and in the homes of the people who attend this church on a regular basis.  It so apparent that God is great and we want to share the love of Jesus with the people we come into contact with.  Pastor Don taught us about the day of preparation as it was related to Jesus preparing Himself for being a willing sacrifice for all of our sins.  And before any of you go to the wrong place with this and start saying things like I am so unworthy...stop your bawling and say instead "Thank you Jesus!"
What Jesus did that day 1,980 years ago is about Him doing for us, and NOT about us being unworthy.  So keep the focus were it belongs!

I have used this example with some of my friends and family, now I will share it with you...if a person walks around day after day with a headache and all they ever do is complain about their headache...this can become quite tiresome, and also annoying...if you have a problem, deal with it...do not just constantly talk about it and do nothing...I say take an aspirin and go lie down so the headache has a chance to go away.  If you have a problem and all you do is talk about your problem, but you fail to take your problem to the Lord...well so be it.  If you are a child of God...take your problem to your Father.  Once you are born again, you now have a heavenly Father who likes nothing better than for His children to bring their problems and their concerns to Him for His help.  So do this, and as my son Samuel told me, "don't forget to listen to His answer!"

One more point to be made and then shower time....after Jesus was crucified and His body had been tended to and He was laid in the tomb...this is where it really gets good.  Jesus may have laid there for a little bit, then he got up and out of His burial clothes and He folded the napkin that had been laid on His face and placed this at the head of the stone where He had been laying.  Oh this is so good...in laying the napkin down as he did, this tells the person who see it that he wants more and will return, you see in the Hebrew culture the servants set the table for the master and the master then comes in and eats...if the master just wipes his hands and face and beard, and then throws the napkin down in a ball, this signifies that he is done, but if the master folds up the napkin and places it on the table he is saying he wants more and will return.  Jesus was telling us he would return....YAY God!  How awesome is this!

Time to go and find someone to bless...how about you?
