Are you a Child of God?

Yesterday was Easter!  How did you celebrate this wonderful Christian holiday?  We went to church, no surprise there. In fact, we double dipped. We went to two services.  Well two of our four favorite pastors were speaking so we were there to learn.  Wow! What an awesome few hours.

The first service was Pastor Don, and he spoke to us about Preparation Day in the life of the Hebrew culture.  Do you know what this is?  Well we have to remember that for the Jews, their Sabbath is Saturday and a day went from 6:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  So preparation day was from Thursday at 6:00PM to Friday at 6:00 PM.  This was when all the cleaning and the leaven needed to be removed from the house.  Apparently leaven is equated with sin.  I am sure that you are aware that when there is a little sin it will soon grow to big sin.  And what most people do not know is that sin is sin is sin.  It doesn't matter whether it is a big sin or a small sin...there is no big sin or little sin, sin is sin.  When you look at bread as it is in the process of making it take just a smidgen of yeast to make a whole loaf. And the dough grows, that little bit of yeast/leaven can change that loaf from little to big.  Do you see?

One of the things that also needs preparation is yourself, you need to spend time with the Lord and prepare yourself spiritually, our homes are our vessels for our bodies, our homes are cleaned to prepare for the Sabbath.  Our bodies are the vessels that house our spirit and they need to be cleaned up and prepared for the Sabbath as well.

The time that Jesus spent in the garden praying, I am sure you remember, when he was telling his disciples to just stay awake and watch with me and pray with Him, and the disciples fell asleep.  Well during this time Jesus was praying to God the Father...He was preparing Himself for the Sabbath.  Jesus was our sacrifice...for the forgiveness of our sins.  And He did this willingly.  The soldiers, when they came for Him, didn't have to bind Him in chains, because Jesus went with them willingly.  Jesus was a willing sacrifice.

Well needless to say I really like being able to write to you all without a time clock watching over me.  But since there is I must close for today and continue with this tomorrow.  So for now God Bless you and we will be back on this tomorrow...
