Good Day to all of you...Did you all start your day with a chat with God?
Did you hear from Him? Listen carefully. Sometimes He speaks ever so softly!
Well yesterday we ended up with Gideon and ten of his men tearing down Gideon's fathers grove of trees and taking care of the alter to Baal and replacing it with the alter to God! Yeah Gideon!
Needless to say Joash, Gideon's dad wasn't really to happy about this! And yesterday I told you all that Gideon took a bullock and actually Gideon took two bullocks, and when the towns men discovered this remodeling they also saw that the second bullock was burning on the alter...Needless to say there was a lot of consternation.
And Gideon's dad, well I think he realized the errors of the way they had been living and wasn't to angry with his son...instead he seemed to think, Baal has been cast down, if Baal is a god, let Baal save Baal! Didn't happen did it.
Well after this it looks like the Midianites and the Amalekites started gathering forces...
Hmmm...This is looking a little more like Gideon and his army may be a little outnumbered. But wait...I am getting ahead of myself...Well the opposing forces did gather themselves together, but, 34 the spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon...This is just a portion of this verse, has this ever happened to you? Well if you are a born again believer it can happen, ask the Holy Spirit to come and live inside you..He wants too!
Okay so Gideon now has the Spirit of God, now he will be someone to be reckoned with! This is what the bible says in Judges 6: 34 to the end of the chapter...
34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said ,37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said .38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together , and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove , I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
Well this appears that it is going to take a bit longer to get thru, in the right way, so if you want to have some interesting reading read thru at least Chapter 7 of Judges...then you can read and see what you think tomorrow.
So God Bless you and keep you all safe and sound!
