Well we have selected the president of the country for the next four year term...And for some of us who do not have our selection as the winner, we may be feeling somewhat despondent. For those of us who did vote for the winner you may be feeling joyful. Either way, we ALL now have a job to do along with our president.
Please take some time to read Romans chapter 13.
This will instruct you on what you need to do and need to do on a daily basis.
We as Christians should not just lie back and allow things to happen around us, we are instructed by God to uphold those in positions of authority. I believe that we aren't supposed to just pray for them to be doing a good job; we are to pray for their health and for their wellbeing, and for their salvation.
I am quite sure that if we could ask these men what we should be doing or what we can do to help our presidents, I am sure they both would say that we can pray. And please do not take this lightly, after all what is pray? Isn't it a conversation with God? How could you ever have a conversation with God and take it lightly? That would be like taking God for granted and we don't ever want to take God for granted.
If the leaders who have been elected for the next terms don't quite meet your expectation, well so be it. There is nothing to be done about it at this point except to PRAY...
Don't you realize who we ultimately serve?
We serve God almighty. Have any of you out there ever experienced a miracle? We have had miracles in our house hold. Tim's back bothered him severely, he could not sleep for more than a few hours at a time without experiencing pain that would wake him up and force him out of bed. One Sunday about five months ago, we went to the alter for prayer for healing for someone else. And in the process Tim's back has been completely healed. Now sometimes he's in bed longer than me. This was the miracle in our house. Our mission's team just came back from Central America and they witnessed a young girl being healed, who is now capable of walking, our God is great and if you feel that a miracle is needed then pray as you would for any other miracle.
Sometimes I think that we forget who and what we are! Don't do this, it makes our great God small and we should never ever do this. Because my God is huge. Just like my one little grandson says to me, "Huge Maw, Huge!"
Yes Trenton, God is HUGE!
Our God is great and greatly to be praised. So pray and don't complain, remember what Pastor Don taught us in church a few weeks back, when we complain, we are giving a voice to the devil and I know that you don't want to do this.
And since we have been instructed to pray for our government, how about we get to it!
God Bless you all and may we each be a blessing to each other.
