The World is a BIG Place!

My Sister and I.
I thought that it might be interesting to you to see a few places that I have been over the past few years...and it is really not very many, because I do enjoy being at home.  I know that there are people out there that are constantly going place, not me.  I am quite content to be at home.  And I think that I am like this because in previous chapters of my life I was going, going, going!

Also another reason I want to write about this today is because I am developing a group of people that I think read this some what often and they are from various places around the world.  I have about two readers from France, eight from Germany, about thirty from Russia, and over 300 from my great home country of the USA.

This picture below is from the Orbosonia Railroad Station in Orbosonia, PA.  This is a quaint little town not that very far from our home.  I live in an area that is surrounded by very historic places.  I live just about twelve to fifteen miles from Gettysburg, PA which is extremly historic for the USA.  I know that we are a very young country in the scheme of the world, but this is historic to us here.

The picture above is for the railroad company which is East Broad Top Railroad.

When I was a little girl of three, my family moved to Munich, Germany.  We lived on the Army base outside of Munich.  My sister and I had a German Nanny if you would, but I believe she was more of a friend and mentor to my sister Olwen and to myself.  Her name is Elsa and she told us so many wonderful stories if Germany and some not very happy stories as well.  But I will save this chapter for another day.

The day that my husband and I took the trip thru Orbosonia we were on our way to Raystown Lake for a weekend getaway.  Along the way we came across a small flock of turkeys and I was able to snap a quick picture of them, unfortuneatly it wasn't crystal clear, so using my picture program on my computer I turned it into a painting type of picture.  I think it worked quite well.

This picture is of an old mill that we went to see with another couple that we occasionally go away with for little day trips.

And this picture below is all of us together.  This is the mottley crew.  boy do we have fun when we go away together.

Like I said before Tim and I really don't go away to often.  We are heading over to the Lancaster area a little more often these days because of a new grandchild, that we can visit.  Not all of our grandchildren live close enough for us to see very often.  Which, this to me is sad.  I keep mentioning to my oldest daughter that I really would like them to move up closer to us, but they like the milder winters.  And that's a problem for them coming up to Pennsylvania....we can get pretty chilly here, although I know that as far as the world goes, or even this continent goes we here are a mild winter, as compared to say parts of Canada, or even Maine.

This is an osprey nest high up a pole, do you have any idea where this might be?  Well I cant hear your quess' so I will have to tell tell you, it was in a waterway around Narragansett in Rhoad Island.  Isn't this amazing.  And this is the area below and behind where the nest was on the pole.  I thought that this fishing shack was really a pretty neat picture.  Perhaps close up it would make a nice painting for my husband Tim to paint...what do you think.  You know if any of you people out there have pictures of old mills or unusal buildings from around the world get in touch with me thru this blog I would love to see them and who knows they may turn into paintings...

Narragansett Indian Christian Church

And a delightful women.

My husband and I went to RI for our youngest son's wedding to a wonderful young women who is from RI.  And the delightful women above helped to rear my son's new wife,  she played the part of a grandmother or aunt, I am not 100% sure which it is.  But any way she was so kind and took us and showed us the Indian Church and the cemetary, very, very intersting....

Another one of the waterways up in RI.

Well it is about time for me to start heading toward the showers and getting reay for work.  But as I have said before, I am very interested in getting to know who my readers are and I would love it if you would take the time to introduce yourselves to me.

God Bless you all and don't forget to be a blessing to someone today, you just might be the only bright spot in there day, even if it is only a smile.  Be an encourager.
